Heart to Heart Conference 2021

Family Voices Indiana is proud to offer our annual Heart to Heart Conference via the Whova virtual platform for 2021.  The conference will be held on Thursday, September 30 beginning at 9 a.m.  Heart to Heart Conference 2021 will be a day of learning and support for families of children and youth with special health care needs, including medical, developmental, intellectual or physical health care needs/disabilities, and the professionals who serve them.

The full-day conference includes an opening session by Sue Badeau, break-out sessions, and plenty of opportunity to visit the virtual exhibitors. The full agenda includes details about the day’s schedule and conference topics.

When Cindy got removed from her husband's health insurance after divorce, she found herself in a difficult position - too rich to qualify for Medicaid, but too poor to qualify for any subsidies in the federal Marketplace.

Then her state (Pennsylvania) decided to expand Medicaid through the Affordable Care Act, and Cindy was able to enroll in Medicaid coverage in 2015.

Today, Cindy is fully employed as her son Matthew’s caregiver through the United Cerebral Palsy of Central PA, which has allowed her to move from Medicaid to employer-sponsored insurance. Matthew relies on Medicaid for his disability and his recent battle with cancer.
